The School of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Melbourne seeks a Professorial appointee who will provide academic leadership in the discipline of Mathematical Statistics The appointee will be the inaugural holder of the Peter Hall Chair in Mathematical Statistics which has been created to continue the legacy of the late Professor Peter Hall who was an undisputed giant in the field. With existing staff in mathematical statistics, and more broadly, the appointee will foster growth in the statistical sciences within the School and University.
The appointee will be expected to make major contributions in the areas of research, academic leadership and professional development and contribute to the School's governance. The appointee will contribute to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
