Gazette - information for referees

  • The paper needs to be of interest to the Australian mathematical community.
  • The Gazette is aimed at a broad audience and is not a highly specialised research journal. A paper that is too specialised and not accessible to most AustMS readers should be rejected for this reason, preferably with an example given for a journal that would be more suitable.
  • Work described in the paper needs to be unpublished. If parts have been published elsewhere, this needs to be stated clearly.
  • The content of the paper needs to be correct and accurate.
  • If the paper does not warrant publication as a technical paper but could be published in the unrefereed communications, please state this.
  • Referees are requested to send a report in a form that can be forwarded to the author, if necessary in addition to a fuller report for the editors.
